No reason for concern - Vidic
![]() Central defender Nemanja Vidic is confident Serbia will have found their feet by the time the World Cup gets underway. A lacklustre 1-0 defeat to New Zealand over the weekend led to riots in the stands, with frustrated supporters aiming their anger at the players. Vidic, stand-in skipper for the day, had to call for calm over the public address system, apologising for the disappointing display. Serbia will now head to South Africa in turmoil, with their preparations suggesting they are far from ready to challenge on such a big stage. Vidic, though, believes they will get things right and is refusing to read too much into performances during warm-up matches. "I believe that there is no reason for concern because there is enough time to get everything in place," said the Manchester United centre-half. "We have worked hard to qualify for the tournament and believe the next two friendly matches will be better. "The coach will definitely try some more formations and give other players a chance. "But all these are preparation matches, our main goal is to be in South Africa." CDev, proud to be a member of ManUnitedZone.co.uk since June 09 |
